The Dragons from RTE's popular Dragons' Den and their production team will join the 'Experience It' campaign at Bellewstown Racecourse on July 7. The campaign is a new initiative by Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) to promote racehorse ownership, allowing individuals and groups the opportunity to trial racehorse ownership before making a full commitment.
A horse is leased for a day, with the group or individual allowed to follow their horse's progress, visit their trainer's yard and have a runner on the track in their name. The Dragons' Den syndicate are hoping that fellow dragon Chanelle McCoy, wife of the legendary 20-times British champion jockey Sir Anthony McCoy will guide them.
“The 'Experience It' campaign gives trainers like me the opportunity to show people what really happens behind the scenes of racing, and the work that goes into preparing a horse for a race,” said trainer Keith Clarke, who will train for the syndicate. “I am looking forward to having the Dragons on board as owners for a day at Bellewstown.”
