Drefong Named Champion Sprinter

Baoma Corporation's Drefong (Gio Ponti) has been named Eclipse champion sprinter during the awards ceremony at Gulfstream Park Saturday. The bay colt captured the GI King's Bishop S. in August and capped his championship season with a 1 1/4-length victory in the GI Breeders' Cup Sprint. Drefong received 199 first-place votes, followed by Lord Nelson (Pulpit) with 29.
