WOLF COUNTRY (GB) (c, 2, Dubawi {Ire}–Goathemala {Ger} {GSW-Ger}, by Black Sam Bellamy {Ire}), a 725,000gns TATOCT yearling, was denied a clear run when finishing strongly to be two-lengths sixth in a decent Doncaster maiden over this trip on debut at Doncaster Sept. 8 and bounced out to take instant command. Stretching all rivals before the quarter pole, the 4-5 favourite galloped out strongly to the line under hands and heels to score by 3 1/2 lengths from Dhajeej (Ire) (Cape Cross {Ire}) with the rest strung out. The dam, who captured the G3 Frankfurter Stutenpreis and is a half to two listed winners, has already produced two black-type performers in her native country and has a yearling filly by Oasis Dream (GB) to come. The third dam Goonda (GB) (Darshaan {GB}) produced several smart runners headed by the group-winning pair Global Dream (Ger) (Seattle Dancer) and Global Thrill (GB) (Big Shuffle) and is a half-sister to Gryada (GB) (Shirley Heights {GB}), responsible for the multiple group 1 winner Fame and Glory (GB) (Montjeu {Ire}). Lifetime Record: 2-1-0-0, $5,792. Video, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
