Dubawi Filly Stars at Goffs

She didn't quite make the 1.2 million Euros that her 3/4-brother Echo of Light (GB) (Dubai Millennium {GB}) did, but in the end, John Ferguson, who signed the ticket on Echo of Light for Sheikh Mohammed seven years ago, was again the winning bidder Wednesday on the coveted hip 386 at Goffs. It was yet another massive result for Pat O'Kelly's Kilcarn Stud, who bred the bay filly from Group 2-placed Spirit of Tara (Ire) (Sadler's Wells), a full sister to the likes of MG1SW Salsabil and SW & GSP Song of Tara (Ire) and also kin to G1SW and prominent sire Marju (Ire). Kilcarn has been responsible for the Orby sales-topper no fewer than eight times in the past, including Echo of Light and the 1.3-million euros purchase Balestrini (Ire) (Danehill). Echo of Light was a five-time Group winner and G1SP for Godolphin.
