A total of 181 horses have been accepted to compete in the 10-day 2016 Dubai World Cup Carnival at Meydan Racecourse, which begins Jan. 7, the Dubai Racing Club announced Wednesday. Sixteen countries will be represented at the Carnival that culminates in the Mar. 26 Dubai World Cup. Heading the list is 2014 American Horse of the Year and dual Classic hero California Chrome (Lucky Pulpit). An additional 21 Group or Grade I winners like Fascinating Rock (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}), who won the G1 QIPCO British Champions S., 2015 G1 Al Quoz Sprint hero Sole Power (GB) (Kyllachy {GB}), Toormore (Ire) (Arakan) and the Chris Waller-trained duo of Delectation (Aus) (Shamardal) and Good Project (Aus) (Not A Single Doubt {Aus}), will also attempt to find success in the desert.
