Introduced on the Polytrack over 9 1/2 furlongs at Chantilly Jan. 29, Camprock followed a narrow win there with a hard-fought follow-up to display her versatility in this early Classic pointer staged on testing turf. Initially settled with one behind, the bargain bay who has a 2-year-old half-brother by Le Havre (Ire) named Storm Trigger (Fr) was soon allowed to stride up the outer to sit behind Besotted and despite needing all of the straight to grind down that rival managed it with some serious graft in the last metres. “I'm delighted, as she lacks experience and wants better ground and more waiting tactics,” trainer Pia Brandt commented. “She is entered in the G1 Prix de Diane [at Chantilly June 19] and the G1 Prix Saint-Alary [at Deauville May 16] and will have a run in between, but I don't know when as yet.”
