Named Don Gato, a colt by Storm Cat brought a final bid of $800,000 to top the early returns at Keeneland April Wednesday night. H. Albina, agent for Russian buyer Mamet Gusseynov, signed the ticket. The bay is out of SP Here I Go (Mr. Prospector), who was herself a $500,000 KEEAPR purchase, and who produced 2005 GI Kentucky Oaks heroine Summerly (Summer Squall). Consignor Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds had purchased a 50-percent interest in the colt privately from breeders Tom VanMeter, Michael Lowenbaum and Dr. Rand E. Dankerfor an undisclosed sum.
