Zayat Stables's El Kabeir (Scat Daddy), coming off a 2 3/4-length victory in the Mar. 7 GIII Gotham S., tuned up for Saturday's GI Twinspires.com Wood Memorial S. with a bullet five-furlong work over Belmont's training track Monday. The gray colt completed the work in 1:01.12–fastest of 27 at the distance.
“The clockers got him galloping out in 1:13 3/5, just as easy as can be,” said trainer John Terranova. “He went great, great. We were really happy. It went perfect, just as we were hoping. He came out great and is cooling out really well.”
