Emblem Takes The Hanshin

Major Emblem | Japan Racing Association

Major Emblem (Jpn) (Daiwa Major {Jpn}) justified favoritism in good style to win the G1 Hanshin Fillies under a confident ride from Christophe Lemaire. Victory in this prestigious contest crowns the winner Champion juvenile filly in Japan in which she beat the fast finishing Win Fabulous (Jpn) (Stay Gold {Jpn}) by two lengths, with Blanc Bonheur (Jpn) (Deep Impact {Jpn} further back in third. Major Emblem won her maiden back in June and built on that debut promise with a subsequent allowance victory. She met her only defeat when chinned by Denko Ange (Jpn) (Meisho Samson {Jpn}) in the G3 Artemis S. in Tokyo Oct. 31, but she made no mistake on Sunday, taking control of the race along way from home and running out a comfortable winner. The winning rider was fulsome in his praise for the Yasuhito Tamura trained filly and commented, “She surprisingly broke very well and I'm glad we drew an inner stall. She is easy to ride and was relaxed today. She ran strongly to the finish line and I'm very happy we were able to claim the G1 race. She's an amazing filly and I'm sure she'll do well in the classics.”
