Empire Maker Colt Snapped Up for $800K at FTFFEB

Bidding on behalf of Betty Moran's Brushwood Stables, Reiley McDonald went to $800,000 for a Murray Smith-consigned son of Empire Maker during the early stages of the Fasig-Tipton Calder Sale of Selected Two-Year-Olds in Training Tuesday. The April foal, a $150,000 KEESEP yearling purchase by Divine Assetts Inc., is the first foal from Bank Audit (Wild Rush), winner of the GII Distaff BC H. and GII Genuine Risk H. in 2005. The nine-year-old mare was purchased by the colt's breeder, St. George Farm, for $600,000 at the 2006 Keeneland November sale.
