Encosta de Lago Colt Clinches Big Day for Coolmore at Inglis

A chestnut colt by top sire Encosta de Lago (Aus) was hammered down for A$500,000 to lead the way during Friday's second and final session at the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale in Newmarket. The son of Group 3 winner Charmview (Aus) (Royal Academy) was purchased by Blue Sky Thoroughbreds and was consigned by Coolmore Stud, which was responsible for seven of the top 10 foals during the select session and was easily the leading vendor, with 30 horses sold for A$2.5 million. モThis was one of the best drafts we have ever taken to a weanling sale and we got the desired result,ヤ Coolmore Australia General Manager Michael Kirwan said. モWe brought some really nice horses to the sale and it was very pleasing to see the strong competition for them.ヤ The sale resumes with a much-anticipated session of breeding stock Sunday, June 29.
