Encosta de Lago Filly Makes Seven Figs at Easter

An Encosta de Lago (Aus) filly out of Elegant Fashion (Aus) (Danewin {Aus}) was hammered down to Mark Pilkington for an even A$1 million to rate as the second-best price on the final day of the Easter sale. Also consigned by Brooklyn Lodge, the chestnut is the second produce from Elegant Fashion, a treble Group 2 winner and Group 1-placed while racing in Australia who blossomed further when exported to Hong Kong. Winner of the prestigious Hong Kong Derby in 2002 for David Hayes, she was also twice runner-up in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup. Hip 465 also hails from the extended female family of Nashwan and Japanese Horse of the Year Deep Impact (Jpn).
