Trainer Lance Noble and his wife, Leigh, went to NZ$800,000 to purchase an Encosta de Lago (Aus) colt, who led all lots on day one of the New Zealand Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sale. Consigned by Lyndhurst Farm, the yearling is out of the Blues Traveller (Ire) mare Giovana (NZ), who was New Zealand's highweight older mare at 2200m and up in 2000. Giovana–winner of four Group 1 stakes–is the dam of the MSP Fusaichi Pegasus filly Chivana (NZ).
