Conquest Enforcer (Into Mischief) looks to go two-for-two for his new connections while facing an accomplished group in Santa Anita's GII Arcadia S. Saturday. A four-time stakes winner for Mark Casse and the now defunct Conquest Stables, the bay was acquired for $785,000 by Loooch Racing Stables, Imaginary Stables and Ritchie Raquel at Keeneland November. Turned over to Phil D'Amato, he was a clear-cut, box-to-wire winner of the course-and-distance GII Mathis Brothers Mile Dec. 26. The talented What a View (Vronsky) also figures to have his sights set on the early lead. The dark bay gelding strung together four victories early last season, including a 3 3/4-length success in the GI Frank E. Kilroe Mile here in March. Winless in his last four, albeit with some excuses and in some tough spots, the Kenny Black trainee was run down late last time by MGSW millionaire Ashleyluvssugar (Game Plan) when attempting to defend his title in the nine-furlong California Cup Turf Classic Jan. 28. Local GISW Ring Weekend (Tapit), fifth in the rained-off GIII San Gabriel S. last out; 2016 Arcadia winner Bolo (Temple City); and often unlucky Ohio (Brz) (Elusive Quality) round out the field.
