+PATTON PROUD (c, 2, Eskendereya–Elusive Horizon {MSW, $241,715}, by Elusive Quality) parlayed a pace-pressing trip into a solid debut victory at a well-backed 7-2. First away from the stalls, the $170,000 Keeneland September graduate showed the way from between horses while racing outside Hot Squad (Harlan's Holiday) and to the inside of Wagon Boss (Street Boss). Patton Proud responded when asked by Ricardo Santana Jr. in upper stretch and though Hot Squad proved a stubborn foe at the rail, Patton Proud did the better of the two to find the wire best of all. It was a distance back to War Stroll (Stroll) in third. Wagon Boss was fifth. The winner's dam is a half-brother to GSW & GISP Super Ninety Nine (Pulpit) and hails from the extended female family of champion Countess Diana (Deerhound). Both the winner's dam (hip 48) and weanling colt by Bodemeister (hip 47) are catalogued to sell as part of the Complete Dispersal of Northwest Farms at the upcoming Keeneland November sale. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $33,600. Click for the Equibase.com chart or VIDEO, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
