GI Preakness S. winner and GI Kentucky Derby runner-up Exaggerator (Curlin) recorded his first official work Saturday since finishing 11th in the GI Belmont S. June 11. With regular rider Kent Desormeaux in the irons, the bay was clocked in :51.63 (50/50) at Big Sandy, and remains on target for the GII Jim Dandy S. at Saratoga July 30. “It was a little slower than expected but it was his first work back, so we didn't want to push him,” trainer Keith Desormeaux offered. “We'll crank it up next week and get him on the road to the Jim Dandy.”
