Excellent Art (GB) (Pivotal {GB}–Obsessive, by Seeking the Gold), who capped off his career with a second-place finish in the Oct. 27 GI Breedersí Cup Mile at Monmouth Park, has been retired to Coolmore in Ireland. The three-year-old will stand for a fee of £25,000. Bred by Cheveley Park and purchased by Matthew Green for 76,000gns as a DONSEP yearling, Excellent Art followed a debut maiden win at two with a nine-length romp in the National S. at Sandown. Third in the G2 Railway S. and G1 Prix Morny, he completed his juvenile campaign with a victory in the G2 Mill Reef S. Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith bought into the colt after that performance, and he was transferred from trainer Neville Callaghan to Aidan OíBrien.
