An extra flat fixture has been scheduled for Musselburgh Racecourse on Oct. 9 to replace the cards lost at Ayr and Hamilton, the British Horseracing Authority announced Tuesday. The six race card, to be run for total prize money of £55,000 during a twilight slot, will feature the Listed Arran S., which was originally scheduled for Ayr on Sept. 22.
“The recent fixture abandonments at Ayr and Hamilton have meant a loss of opportunities and income in Scotland,” said Paul Johnson, Head of Racing at the BHA. “Monday's fixture should be a help in both regards and I would like to extend my tanks to Musselburgh, The Levy Board, and the European Breeders' Fund for their assistance in making this happen.”
