Fair Grounds and First American Bankcard Inc. Donate Over $12,000 to United Way Tornado Relief

Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots and First American Bankcard, Inc., made a donation of $12,522 on Friday to the United Way of Southeast Louisiana to aid in relief efforts following Tuesday's tornadoes that impacted the Southern Louisiana region, it was announced Monday. The areas most heavily impacted were New Orleans East and Livingston Parish.

The donation included a portion of Friday night's Starlight Racing ticket sales. In addition, Fair Grounds' Official Soft Drink, Energy and Water Partner Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, Inc. added to the relief efforts by including a pallet of Mutant 20oz Red Dawn and 15 cases of Fruit Punch Juice Boxes to the donation.

“We are pleased to partner with Anthony Rabito, Jr, President and CEO of First American Bankcard, Inc. to assist with the relief efforts following Tuesday's tornadoes,” said Doug Shipley, Fair Grounds President and General Manager. “Our hearts are with those affected, and we are committed to helping the United Way of Southeast Louisiana provide food, clothing and other vital services to the affected communities.”
