William S. Farish, a member of The Jockey Club since 1970 and its vice chairman for the last 27 years, is stepping down from that position and will be succeeded by Stuart S. Janney III, effective immediately, according to a release from the organization. Farish will continue to serve his term on the Board of Stewards, which expires in 2013. Janney became a member of The Jockey Club in 1992. He has also served as chairman of The Jockey Club's Thoroughbred Safety Committee and will continue to serve in that role.
