The OBS March Selected Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training was off to a fast start yesterday when three of the first 10 horses through the ring eclipsed the $300,000 mark. That included hip 12, a colt by Belong to Me who elicted a $360,000 bid from Hoods Up Stable. Eisaman Equine consigned the bay, who was produced by the stakes-placed West by West mare Points West. Other early highlights included the sale of hip 3, a Mizzen Mast colt who was the first on offer after the first two horses in the sale scratched. Mike Ryan, agent, purchased the Excel Bloodstock consignee for $300,000. A few minutes later, hip 8, a colt from the first crop of Grade I winner Toccet (Awesome Again), made $310,000. Tim Kegel, agent, purchased the filly from the consignment of Nick de Meric, agent.
