Feld & Annie's Answer to Revive Kids to the Cup

Kids to the Cup (KTTC), an organization founded in the late 90's by Trudy McCaffery to create opportunities for kids and teens to enjoy racing's biggest days with all expenses paid, has been revived, Sean Feld announced Wednesday. The newly created organization will join forces with Annie's Answer, a 501c3 non-profit organization in Lexington, KY dedicated to providing equine assisted therapy for children who have suffered emotional trauma.

During its initial run, Kids to the Cup hosted hundreds of kids from all over the country on big event days, including each Breeders' Cup and Triple Crown races. Each trip included the airfare and hotel for winners and their parent or guardian, plus several days' worth of industry functions. Many alumni from those trips now have successful careers in racing and have joined to forces to resurrect the organization.

“Participating in Kids to the Cup when I was 14 years-old was a very important event in my life growing up,” said Sean Feld. “Trudy McCaffery was a visionary when she started Kids to the Cup, but for various reasons she was unable to continue with the project. I am very happy working with Annie's Answer and the vast alumni that are in the industry because of their past participation in Kids to the Cup, in furthering the dreams of kids getting involved in the Thoroughbred industry.”

The group hopes to gather enough funding to make the 2017 Breeders' Cup at Del Mar their initial KTTC event.
