Fiesolana Mulls BC Options
Irish highweight Fiesolana (Ire) (Aussie Rules) has several Breeders’ Cup options available according to trainer Willie McCreery. While the GI Breeders’ Cup Mile is the preferred race, Fiesolana is not guaranteed a place at this stage and the GI Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf would be the alternative target. The Flaxman Stables color bearer lifted the G1 Matron S. Irish Champions Weekend and was last seen finishing seventh behind Olympic Glory (Ire) (Choisir {Aus}) in the G1 Prix de la Foret at Longchamp earlier this month.
“She’s in great form,” commented McCreery. “We’re just getting all the travel arrangements ready for a tilt at the Breeders’ Cup. The Mile is first choice, but we might not get in it, so we’re keeping in both at the minute. The weather over here is quite warm for the time of year, so it’s quite good for fillies. She seems happy with herself so we’re going to give it a go. She’s likely to fly out on Saturday.”
