Successful in a six-furlong novice stakes at Newbury Aug. 17, Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum's Yourtimeisnow (GB) (Charm Spirit {Ire}) provided her first-season sire with a black-type breakthrough in Thursday's G3 Shadwell Dick Poole Fillies' S. at Salisbury. Sent straight to the lead by Andrea Atzeni, the 4-1 chance was keen but when challenged by Lady Aria (GB) (Kodiac {GB}) inside the final 1 1/2 furlongs pulled out extra to prevail by a half length. “She did nothing wrong at Newbury and today she has gone through the race well,” trainer Roger Varian said. “She is tough and genuine and it was a good performance. She is in the [G2] Rockfel [at Newmarket Sept. 28], we might try seven furlongs and that would be the obvious target. Over the coming weeks and months we will see how she does, she might be a filly to run in a Guineas trial, but that is a long way off.”

Pedigree Notes…

Yourtimeisnow is a half-sister to the useful seven-furlong specialist Hors de Combat (GB) (Mount Nelson {GB}), whose group placings include runner-up finishes in the G3 Thoroughbred S. and G3 Criterion S., and also that performer's full-brother Stroll Patrol (GB) who was third in this race in 2014. The group-placed dam is a half to the GI Woodford Reserve Turf Classic-winning sire Stroll (Pulpit) and Patrol (Lear Fan) who was third in that contest. Her yearling colt is by Pivotal (GB).
