Jennifer Patterson, former assistant trainer and exercise rider for Shug McGaughey and Victoria Oliver, recorded her first win as a trainer Thursday when Harry T. Rosenblum's Sport's Story (Tale of the Cat) won the eighth race at Belterra Park. It was the Keeneland-based conditioner's fifth career start.
“This is a special day for me because Mr. Rosenblum was the first owner to give me a chance,” Patterson said. “Sport's Story was the first horse in my barn.”
