Flash Of Promise

Promise To Be True | Racing Post

Having done the right thing on debut, Susan Magnier, Michael Tabor and Derrick Smith's Promise to Be True (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) bids to emulate the G3 Jockey Club of Turkey Silver Flash S. success of her full-sister Maybe (Ire) at Leopardstown on Thursday. Showing a serious change of gear to win over 7 1/2 furlongs at Tipperary June 30, Ballydoyle's bay is taken on by a potentially smart rival in the Joseph O'Brien-trained Intricately (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}), who beat some useful colts on debut over this trip at Gowran Park June 19. David Kelly's Elusive Beauty (Ire) (Elusive Pimpernel) boasts the group-race form, having been third behind Promise to Be True's stablemate Roly Poly (War Front) in the G3 Grangecon Stud S. over six furlongs at The Curragh June 26. Trainer Ken Condon said, “The filly looks great and has exceeded our expectations, to be honest. She looks progressive, ran really well at the Curragh last time and should appreciate the step up to seven furlongs. She's a nice filly, but I just want to see how the ground is. It can get quite quick at Leopardstown, so she wouldn't be a definite runner.”
