Flying Artie Interest Sold

A partnership including Newgate Farm and China Horse Club has purchased the majority interest in Group 1-winning 3-year-old sprinter Flying Artie (Aus) (Artie Schiller). The Mick Price trainee will race going forward for a partnership involving those entities as well as SF Bloodstock, Matthew Sandblom, and his initial owners Luskin Park and Aston Bloodstock.

Flying Artie won the G3 Blue Diamond Prelude at two before finishing second in the G1 Blue Diamond S. and third in the G1 Golden Slipper, and the bay recorded his first Group 1 win in last Saturday's prestigious G1 Coolmore Stud S. over G1 Golden Rose S. winner Astern (Aus) (Medaglia d'Oro).

“Flying Artie is an exceptional colt in one of the greatest 3-year-old crops we have seen in many years,” said Newgate Managing Director Henry Field. “He was up there with the very best of his generation at two, placing in a Golden Slipper and Blue Diamond, before dominantly winning the strongest Coolmore S. we have seen on record. He's a serious racehorse and will be a serious outcross as a sire, and we are privileged to be standing him on completion of racing.”
