Four equally-matched older horses line up for Chantilly's G2 Prix Foy on Sunday, with three of them group 1 winners and the other the still-unexposed One Foot In Heaven (Ire) (Fastnet Rock {Aus}).
Brought along steadily by Alain de Royer-Dupre, who campaigned his dam Pride (Fr) (Peintre Celebre) with such deadly effect, he mastered his examinations in the G3 Prix d'Hedouville over this trip at Saint-Cloud May 8 and the June 5 G2 Grand Prix de Chantilly before finishing sixth to Silverwave (Fr) (Silver Frost {Ire}) after meeting trouble in running in the July 3 G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud.
Silverwave was making a well-deserved breakthrough there, having been second in the May 1 G1 Prix Ganay at Saint-Cloud May 1 and third in the G1 Prix d'Ispahan over an extra furlong at this venue 23 days later.
Andre Fabre has won this a record eight times and relies on the Rothschild Family's Elliptique (Ire) (New Approach {Ire}), who had the subsequent G1 Grosser Preis von Baden hero Iquitos (Ger) (Adlerflug {Ger}) back in fourth when winning the G1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis over a mile and a quarter at Munich last time July 31.
