Found May Target Classic

The upcoming Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita became even more interesting Sunday when the news broke that G1 Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heroine Found (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), who captured last year's GI Breeders' Cup Turf, will take on males once again this year, but may do so on the dirt in the GI Breeders' Cup Classic Nov. 5.

“We've decided to put Found in the Breeders' Cup Classic and she will be entered for the race in the morning,” trainer Aidan O'Brien said. “Whether or not she runs in the Classic hasn't been decided. She's also in the Breeders' Cup Turf, which she won last year, and we'll wait a bit longer before deciding which race she will go for and what other horses we'll be taking to Santa Anita.”

Besting heavily favored Golden Horn (GB) (Cape Cross {Ire}) by a half-length in last year's BC Turf, the Found finished second in five Group 1 contests in Europe this season before leading home an O'Brien-trained trifecta in the Arc Oct. 2 at Chantilly. The “TDN Rising Star” checked in second to Almanzor (Fr) (Wootton Bassett {GB}) last time in the G1 QIPCO Champion S. at Ascot Oct. 15.
