Despite being dwarfed–in a statistical sense–by his fellow co-finalists Todd Pletcher and Chad Brown, Bob Baffert picked up his first Eclipse statuette as the nation's outstanding conditioner since 1999 and fourth overall. Baffert, who conditioned Triple Crown hero American Pharoah (Pioneerof the Nile), received fully 200 of the first-place votes cast to easily best six-time winner and two-time defending winner Todd Pletcher (44) and Chad Brown (12).
