Exospheric (GB) (Beat Hollow {GB}), who raced for his breeder Khalid Abdullah and Sir Michael Stoute in Britain under the name Exosphere is reportedly in good shape ahead of an intended 'Cup' campaign this autumn. Now trained by Lee and Anthony Freedman Exospheric was last seen running a creditable eighth in the G1 Melbourne Cup having kicked off his southern hemisphere career in promising fashion with a third place behind Jameka (Aus) (Myboycharlie {Ire}) in the G1 BMW Caulfield Cup. “Exospheric's been in work a little while now, he's ready to step up his work,” Lee Freedman told Racing.com. “I'm very pleased with him, he's settled in really well. Even though he grew a bit of a winter coat at the wrong time because he was a bit out of season, we've clipped him and he's responded to that well. He's not suffering in the heat.” Mapping out a starting point for the 5-year-old entire Freedman suggested, “He may run in the [G1] Orr Stakes in three weeks time.” Freedman also indicated the G2 Peter Young S. and the G1 Australian Cup would likely follow for Exospheric.
Freedman also had news of Our Ivanhowe (Ger) (Soldier Hollow {GB}) who has the distinction of being a Group 1 winner in both Australia and Germany. “We brought him back in later, because he did take the run pretty badly in the Melbourne Cup [finished 17th],” he said. Our Ivanhowe will likely be trained for a repeat win in the G1 Doomben Cup in May.
