G2 Reisling S. winner Frolic (Aus) (Husson {Arg}) will miss Saturday's G1 Champagne S. after trainer Michael Freedman revealed on Twitter she is headed for a spell. Frolic, campaigned by the Kelly family of Newhaven Park, won the Inglis Classic and the Reisling before finishing second in the G1 Golden Slipper, and she was seventh as the favourite in the Apr. 1 G1 Sires' Produce S.
With Frolic headed to the paddocks, Freedman will wrap up his Australian training stint on Thursday. In February, the former Singapore-based trainer announced he had accepted a position to train in Hong Kong.
