Galileo Colt Leads Way at Goffs

A colt by Galileo (Ire) and the second produce of 2006 G1 Moyglare Stud S. heroine Miss Beatrix (Ire) (Danehill Dancer {Ire}) was hammered down to Mertoun Paddocks, a division of Templeton Stud, for 260,000 euros to take the lead during Thursday's session of foals at the Goffs November Sale. Consigned by J.K. Thoroughbreds, the Feb. 10 foal is a full brother to a filly purchased by Ballyhane Stud from J.K. Thoroughbreds for 130,000 euros earlier this fall. Racing as a homebred for Bill Durkan, Miss Beatrix registered a 14-1 upset in the Moyglare four years ago before going on to best 27 other rivals in the Goffs Millions. She retired with three wins from nine runs and earnings of $1,537,222.
