Galileo Colt Shines at Tattersalls

Galileo (Ire) had a sole foal colt catalogued in the Tattersalls December Sale and the full-brother to the 2010 Epsom Derby runner-up At First Sight (Ire) sparked a predictable bidding war in the Newmarket complex. The March-foaled bay, whose immediate family also includes the Graded-Stakes performers Fast and Furious (Fr) (Singspiel {Ire}) and Herboriste (GB) (Hernando {Fr}), was from Bill Dwan's Castlebridge Consignment. Despite the persistence of Aran Bloodstock's David Ryan, it was Sheikh Fahad who won the day doing his own bidding. “He is a lovely-looking colt,” the buyer said. “He is real quality, he really caught my eye–I went to see him a few times and I liked him more every time I saw him. If he were to have come here as yearling, he could have made a million. This horse has been bought to race.”
