One of two private sales listed on the day, a filly by top sire Galileo (Ire) sold for 600,000 euros to top the opening session of the 2010 Arqana August Yearling Sale Friday in Deauville. Consigned by Haras d'Etreham, she was purchased by Charles Gordon-Watson Bloodstock. Galileo accounted for four of the top five at the session. The topper, hip 29, is a half to Group 1 winner Turtle Bowl (Ire) (Dyhim Diamond {Ire}), MGSW and GISP Turtle Bow (Fr) (Turtle Island {Ire}), and a full to GSW and MG1SP Age of Aquarius (Ire), who topped this sale at 1,400,000 euros three years ago. The top seller to sell out of the ring was hip 27, a colt by Oasis Dream (GB) out of Cap Coz (Ire) (Indian Ridge {Ire}). Consigned by Castlebridge Consignment, he was hammered down to Demi O'Byrne for 500,000 euros.
