In front of a hushed Tattersalls crowd, The Castlebridge Consignment's Hip 557, a Galileo sibling of the G1 Epsom Derby victor Authorized (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}) from the family of last week's G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe heroine Solemia (Ire) (Poliglote {GB}), lit up the darkness when drawing a final bid if 2.5-million guineas from David Redvers. The March-foaled bay, already named Hydrogen (GB), was purchased on behalf of Sheikh Fahad Al Thani. Bidding commenced at 400,000gns and John Magnier was the underbidder.
