UTAH (IRE) (c, 2, Galileo {Ire}–Healing Music {Fr}, by Bering {GB}), who was sixth on debut behind stablemate and TDN Rising Star Douglas Macarthur (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) over a mile at Leopardstown July 21, was in front after the first furlong. Turning the screw approaching the final two furlongs, the €260,000 GOFORB yearling who is a full-brother to the G1 Epsom Derby runner-up At First Sight (Ire), G1SP-Eng, MGSP-Ire, GSP-Aus, $776,277, had 2 1/4 lengths to spare over stablemate The Anvil (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) at the line. “The first day at Leopardstown, Seamie said he didn't get the clearest of runs and was very green prob so would probably have been second or third,” trainer Aidan O'Brien said. “He got a quick position today and galloped all the way to the line. He was not stopping in front but was still having a look around, and will improve again. The second horse was working really nicely at home and came home well.” The first and second's stablemate Yucatan (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}), a son of the champion Six Perfections (Fr) (Celtic Swing {GB}), was not as demonstrative on his debut but showed some encouragement in seventh. As well as being a full-brother to At First Sight, Utah is a grandson of Helvellyn (Gone West), who produced the GII La Prevoyante H. heroine Herboriste (GB) (Hernando {Fr}) and the Listed Derby du Languedoc winner and GI Hollywood Derby runner-up Fast and Furious (Fr) (Singspiel {Ire}). She in turn is a granddaughter of the GI Test S. winner Belle de Nuit (Warfare), whose progeny is headed by the GII Black-Eyed Susan S. winner and stakes-producing Dame Mysterieuse (Bold Forbes) and the G2 Grand Prix d'Evry winner Paint the Town (Vaguely Noble {Ire}). The latter's descendants include the G1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud hero Passion For Gold (Medaglia d'Oro). Healing Music also has a yearling colt to follow by Camelot (GB).
