Out of luck when 13th of 14 in the G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches at ParisLongchamp May 13, Mohamed Fahad Al-Attiyah's Mission Impassible (Ire) (Galileo {Ire}) had things fall in her favour at Chantilly on Sunday as she gained compensation in the G2 Prix de Sandringham. Settled under cover in third early by Cristian Demuro, the 4-1 shot received a perfect tow from the leader Efaadah (Ire) (Dansili {GB}) before being angled out to challenge in deep stretch. Delivering a surge to gain the advantage 100 metres from the line, the chestnut who had finished third behind Wild Illusion (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) and Polydream (Ire) (Oasis Dream {GB}) in the G1 Prix Marcel Boussac here in October earned a 3/4-of-a-length success from the closer Crown Walk (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}), with Efaadah a length away in third.

“She did not have a clear run in the Pouliches and so was unable to show her true form, but maybe that was a blessing in disguise as she didn't have a hard race,” trainer Jean-Claude Rouget commented. “She did very well in between and has rewarded us with a nice victory which shows she has lost none of her quality. She will go back to my Deauville base now and be prepared for the [July 29 G1] Prix Rothschild.”

Pedigree Notes…

Mission Impassible, who has also won the Listed Criterium de l'Ouest at Craon as a juvenile, is the first foal out of the G1 Nunthorpe S. heroine Margot Did (Ire) (Exceed and Excel (Aus), who was herself the leading performer out of Special Dancer (GB) (Shareef Dancer). The latter is kin to the G3 Meld S. and G3 Leopardstown S. winner Cajarian (Shahrastani) and her full-sister Caraiyma (Ire) who in turn is the dam of the G1 Prix de la Foret hero Caradak (Ire) (Desert Style {Ire}). Margot Did also has a yearling full-sister to Mission Impassible. Click for the free Equineline.com catalogue-style pedigree.
