+RAIN GODDESS (IRE) (f, 2, Galileo {Ire}–Where {Ire}, by Danehill Dancer {Ire}), was sent off at an unconsidered 50-1 for this fully subscribed affair and settled just off the pace after breaking to the fore. Making progress once angling into clear runway inside the final quarter mile, she kept on strongly under urging in the closing stages to deny Holiday Girl (Ire) (Acclamation {GB}) by a length nearing the line for a taking debut score. Aneen (Ire) (Lawman {Fr}), whose G1 Irish 2000 Guineas-winning half-brother Awtaad (Ire) (Cape Cross {Ire}) prevailed in the G2 Solonaway S. later on this card, suffered during the early skirmishes and was shuffled back through the pack, but made good headway in the straight to finish a never-nearer fourth. “She's a nice filly, she's straightforward and Declan [McDonogh] gave her a great ride,” said soon-to-retire trainer David Wachman of the winner. “She'll be a nice filly for Aidan [O'Brien] next year.” The bay, half to a yearling filly by Frankel (GB), is a granddaughter of G1 1000 Guineas-winning Irish highweight Virginia Waters (Kingmambo), whose best offspring is Listed Celebration S. victor Emperor Claudius (Giant's Causeway). Virginia Waters is a half-sister to GSW G1 Irish Derby runner-up Alexander of Hales (Danehill), G1 Criterium International second Chevalier (Ire) (Danehill) and to the unraced dam of G1 Matron S. heroine Chachamaidee (Ire) (Footstepsinthesand {GB}). Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $20,727. Video, sponsored by Fasig-Tipton.
