Gamilati Sidelined

Godolphin's Gamilati (GB) (Bernardini) has undergone surgery on an ankle and looks certain to miss the European mile Classics. Last year's G2 Cherry Hinton S. winner had taken the Listed UAE 1000 Guineas at Meydan Feb. 3 and was on course for a tilt at the Newmarket 1000 Guineas, but Simon Crisford revealed yesterday, “Gamilati had a very good winter in Dubai, winning the UAE 1,000 Guineas impressively, but unfortunately she has required surgery to remove a chip from her near-fore ankle. She will have a little bit of time out of training and when she starts back in a few weeks we will reassess what her programme will be for the summer.”
