GARSWOOD RETIRED
Garswood (GB) (Dutch Art {GB}), who capped his career with a victory in the G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest Aug. 10, has been retired to Cheveley Park Stud. Trained by Richard Fahey, the 4-year-old broke his maiden in listed company at Ayr in September 2012, and recorded his second stakes win in Newmarket's Listed European Free H. two starts later in his sophomore bow. He added the G2 Lennox S. later that year, and was last seen taking the Maurice de Gheest by a half-length.
“He was a listed winner at two, a Group 2 winner at three and a Group 1 winner at four,” Fahey told Racing Post. “He had a super temperament and was a legend. Ability wise, he was definitely one of the best I've trained.”
