Gary Stevens, who will return to competition today to take part in the Living Legends event, the fourth race at Oak Tree, revealed before the race that he may accept a Breeders' Cup mount. Appearing on the Down the Stretch morning program on Sirius Satellite Radio, Stevens said he had been offered a mount in one of the Friday Breeders' Cup races, but declined to reveal the name of the horse or trainer. “A lot will depend on how I feel this afternoon,” he said, prior to his Legends mount. “If I'm blowing real hard after the race, I'll have to see. I'll have to see what my fitness level is. But if I'm 100% confidentI can do this, we'll see what happens.”
