Rose to Fame offered a good account of herself when taking her career bow going 4 1/2 lengths in the slop here June 7, yet was allowed to sneak away at 7-1 odds to make it two straight this time. Off in good order and kept in a stalking third in this tightly bunched field, Rose to Fame appeared to stagnate for a brief moment as the early frontrunners–R Paper Chaser (Currency Swap) and Go Astray (Gone Astray)–scooted clear. As the former quickly retreated entering the stretch, Go Astray was set down for the drive, but was soon surrendered by a new wave of horses, headed by Rose to Fame, who had the most momentum late to collect her first stakes victory. Diamonds R Trump was runner up, while Di Maria closed to be third.
