Castleton Lyons announced Friday that Gio Ponti (c, 4, Tale of the Cat–Chipeta Springs, by Alydar), runner-up in the GI Breeders' Cup Classic last Saturday, will remain in training in 2010. The bay colt captured four Grade I races on the grass earlier in the year. “Gio Ponti will eventually become a very worthy addition to the stallion ranks at Castleton Lyons, but, in the meantime, we are thrilled to declare our intentions for 2010 with the Dubai World Cup as an exciting early season objective,” said Shane Ryan, president of Castleton Lyons.
