Godolphin has purchased Saturday's G2 Sandy Lane S. winner Harry Angel (Ire) (Dark Angel {Ire}) and will keep the 3-year-old colt in training with Clive Cox. Harry Angel broke his maiden at second asking in the G2 Mill Reef S. at two, and finished second to Godolphin's 'TDN Rising Star' Blue Point (Ire) (Shamardal) in the May 17 G3 Pavilion S. before his 4 1/2-length Sandy Lane score.
John Ferguson, Godolphin's chief executive and racing manager, said, “Harry Angel is one of the most brilliant young horses in training and we are delighted to have purchased him. Not only is he a fantastic prospect for all the major Group 1 sprints, being a son of Dark Angel he also has the added attraction of being a potential stallion. We are also excited about having another top horse with Clive Cox, whose expertise and reputation is second to none.”
