6th-NEW, £8,500, Mdn, 4-13, 3yo, 10fT, 2:11.54, g/s.
+WINNING STORY (GB) (c, 3, New Approach {Ire}–Tanzania, by Darshaan {GB}), sent off at 13-2, raced behind the early pace before moving up to third. Working his way to the lead with 1 1/2 furlongs to race, the homebred found plenty up the hill to score by two lengths from Daqeeq (Ire) (New Approach {Ire}). The winner, whose dam hails from one of Sheikh Mohammed's flagship families of the G1 Prix Saint-Alary winner Rosefinch (Blushing Groom {Fr}) and the brilliant Oh So Sharp (Ire), is a half-brother to True Story (GB) (Manduro {Ger}), SW & MGSP-Eng, SW & GSP-UAE, $270,086, as well a 2-year-old colt by Nathaniel (Ire) and a yearling colt by Exceed and Excel (Aus). Satish (GB) (Dansili {GB}), the half-brother to Sariska (GB) (Pivotal {GB}), proved a major disappointment as the well-backed 6-4 favourite. Starting slowly, as his immediate family tend to do, the imposing bay was prominent for half of the contest and gradually weakened to be eighth. Lifetime Record: 1-1-0-0, $7,850.
