Goffs Bloodstock Salesís week-long November Foal and Breeding Stock Sale gets underway Sunday, with an extra opening session due to the unprecedented level of entries. Nearing the close of a highly successful year for the Goffs/DBS partnership, the auction is split into five days of foals followed by three days of broodmares and fillies. Last yearís standard will be hard to match, with the foal turnover up by 32 percent on 2005 and the average increasing by 20 percent; the broodmares and filliesí sessions witnessed a 17-percent rise in the average. This year, a format change will see the 1,283-strong foal catalogue split into Parts One and Two, with 545 lots selling today and tomorrow, and the remainder going through the ring Tuesday to Thursday.
