Goffs To Handle Wildenstein Dispersal

Beauty Parlour | Racing Post

Goffs will handle the Wildenstein dispersal–which includes G1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches victress Beauty Parlour (GB) (Deep Impact {Jpn}), in foal to Kingman (GB)–at its Orby and November sales this fall. The draft of 110–including mares, foals, yearlings and horses-in-training–will be presented by The Castlebridge Consignment.

“Our family has enjoyed tremendous successes at the highest level in horse racing and breeding, and this remarkable draft of horses is the legacy of my grandfather Daniel,” said David Wildenstein. “He raced many of the greats, including four Arc winners–Allez France, All Along, Peintre Celebre and Sagace– and was the leading owner in France on nine occasions as well as leading owner and breeder in England in 1976. Our dispersal features these great families and we wish their new owners all the luck in the world.”

“Now the time has come for us to move in a different direction,” Wildenstein added. “We chose Goffs as our exclusive auction house as I have been impressed by their proactivity and helpfulness, as well as their excellent record in handling such dispersal sales.”

Beauty Parlour is the standout of the 27 mares set to be offered, and her yearling Dubawi (Ire) colt and weanling Dansili (GB) filly are also likely to be highly sought after. Beauty Parlour's winning half-sister Blue Kimono (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) will also be offered, in foal to Australia (GB). The broodmare draft also includes Peinture Rare (Ire) (Sadler's Wells), a Group 2-winning half-sister to Peintre Celebre, and the stakes-placed Galateia (Ire) (Dansili {GB}), who is out of a half-sister to Derby winner Pour Moi (Ire) (Montjeu {Ire}).

The yearling and foal drafts will include the progeny of leading sires like Dansili (GB), Dark Angel (Ire), Dubawi (Ire), Giant's Causeway, Invincible Spirit (Ire), Le Havre (Ire), Lope De Vega (Ire), Oasis Dream (GB), Pivotal (GB), Shamardal and Teofilo (Ire). The horses in training section of the dispersal includes the listed-winning and Group 2-placed Lady Of Kyushu (Smart Strike).

“The Wildenstein Stables Ltd Dispersal represents the most exciting collection of horses to be offered anywhere in the world this year, and it is a real privilege for Goffs to be appointed the auction house of choice to handle the sale that looks set to draw every major international bloodstock buyer to Goffs in 2016,” said Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby. “In my 34 years in the business there are a handful of names that you associate with the very best–Robert Sangster, HH The Aga Khan, Khalid Abdulla, the Maktoums, Coolmore, the Niarchos family for example–and the Wildenstein name is certainly amongst their number.”

Beeby added, “Goffs has consistently proven over the past decade that when given the best horses, our team will deliver the biggest buyers and the best prices. This announcement comes three years after the last major international dispersal sale, Paul Makin's Paulyn Dispersal, that also took place at Goffs and we are honoured that another major name in international bloodstock has put their faith in Goffs and our unrivaled service.”

The Wildenstein yearlings will sell on the second day of the Orby sale Sept. 28, with the horses-in-training immediately to follow. The mares and foals will be sold at the November sale Nov. 13 to 19.
