Golden Ballet Brings $1.4M At KEENOV Opener

Golden Ballet (Moscow Ballet), the dam of 2010 GI Belmont S. winner Drosselmeyer (Distorted Humor), brought a final bid of $1.4 million during the opening session of Keeneland November Monday. Aisling Duignan signed the ticket. MGISW Golden Ballet had been acquired by Aaron and Marie Jones for $1.6 million at this venue in 2001. Her foals have proved equally popular, with the first, a 2003 colt by Saint Ballado, bringing $425K as a KEESEP yearling. He was followed by SW and GISP Stage Luck (Unbridled's Song), a $1.6M KEESEP yearling; Ghizlaan (Seeing the Gold), a $600K KEESEP yearling; Drosselmeyer, a $600K KEESEP yearling; and Black Pond (Forestry), a $190K KEESEP yearling. The 12-year-old mare is in foal to Unbridled's Song.
