Trainer Tom Hogan’s Group 1 globetrotter Gordon Lord Byron (Ire) (Byron {GB}) is in good form ahead of another domestic outing in Saturday’s G3 Renaissance S. at The Curragh. The evergreen 7-year-old was last seen in France when he ran a blinder to finish third to Muhaarar (GB) (Oasis Dream {GB}) in the G1 Prix Maurice De Gheest, on what was his 50th racecourse outing. Speaking about his stable-star Hogan reported, “He couldn’t be better. He had a leg stretch on the Curragh on Tuesday morning and he’s in great form. He ran a good race in France and he’s in top form so there is no point in having him looking out over the stable door, we may as well run.” Already the winner of three Group 1 races in three different countries Gordon Lord Byron will no doubt be aiming for repeat victories in Haydock’s G1 Sprint Cup in September and the G1 British Champion’s Sprint S. at Ascot in October.
